Tesla becomes last EV standing after rental car company purges EVB fleet

The market for electric vehicles is increasingly crowded and more and more electric cars are coming out every year. This was especially true for Miete Deinen Tesla, a German electric vehicle rental company that has expanded its business by purchasing more electric vehicles from other automakers. In a recent announcement, rental company BEV said it was purging its fleet of electric vehicles, except for its Tesla, as the experience of owning other electric cars is somewhat lacking, at least for the moment.

The car rental company outlined its decision in a recent video, which was uploaded to its YouTube channel. In the video, the company noted that it was actually very sad to see some of its electric vehicles go, especially the Porsche Taycan 4S, an otherwise gorgeous electric car that gets bogged down in its charging infrastructure. Other electric cars the company has bought from manufacturers like Volkswagen and Hyundai have also presented their own share of challenges – challenges that don’t make them as efficient as Tesla for business.

Miete Deinen Tesla mentioned some of the issues they encountered during the time they worked with a fleet of electric vehicles from different car manufacturers. According to the company, the prevalent issues with non-Tesla electric cars included software, charging, and repair, to name a few. For example, Volkswagen’s ID series does not yet have over-the-air software update capabilities, which means owners typically have to go to dealerships just to update their vehicles.

Rental company BEV has indicated that it will continue to support the electric vehicle movement by regularly featuring non-Tesla electric cars on its YouTube channel. But for its actual business, the car rental company is reportedly focusing on a Tesla-only fleet for the time being. This is completely understandable given that Tesla’s electric vehicles are very comprehensive and their fast-charging infrastructure makes them ideal alternatives to fossil-fueled cars.

If there are any lessons to be learned from the experience of the German electric vehicle rental company, it’s that the experience of EV ownership matters a lot. Electric cars can be amazing, and their capabilities as a vehicle in itself can be impressive, but without the necessary ecosystem, the ownership experience could easily get bogged down. Thankfully, this is something Tesla is particularly good at, despite the areas for improvement in the business when it comes to maintenance and repair.

Tesla’s mastery of live updates is also a key benefit, as it allows the company to fix minor issues and even add features from time to time through a software update that is not. not to mention those used by smartphone manufacturers like Apple.
