Parkopedia extends parking data services to car rental market

Connected vehicle service provider, Parkopedia, has partnered with Sunny Cars, one of Europe’s largest car rental specialists, to provide parking information to its drivers through the web application “Sunny2go “.

Parkopedia gathers detailed information about each parking location, including precise position, number of spaces, prices, opening hours, electric vehicle charging stations, height restrictions and more and operates in 89 countries around the world.

Predictive algorithms

Parkopedia’s Dynamic Data, which will be added to the app later this year, uses a combination of real-time data and predictive algorithms to determine parking space availability at any time. It is designed to give drivers local knowledge of parking while on the move, providing information on occupancy, as well as the likelihood of finding parking at a destination.

Sunny Cars is a car rental specialist and, rather than directly owning vehicles, works with selected fleets from around the world, with over 8,000 locations in over 120 countries.

“Travelers using Sunny Cars services are typically those who require the most local knowledge and assistance with services such as parking during their trip”

The Sunny2go mobile app, including parking data from Parkopedia, will be provided to customers 14 days prior to vehicle rental via a unique link to act as a “personal concierge service” with features such as a free phone concierge , map functionality, vacation checklists and all booking information for their trip.

This collaboration marks Parkopedia’s continued expansion of its digital parking services into the mobility, transportation and logistics sectors. It aims to help sectors use its parking data to provide assistance for a range of services, from parking for car rental customers and holidaymakers, to creating greater efficiency for delivery drivers around the world. last mile.
